Sevier County Man Arrested After Reported Domestic Assault

DE QUEEN — A Sevier County man was taken into custody on an assault charge following an incident reported on Dec. 4.
According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was dispatched to a residence on the 100 block of Dunn Road in reference to a domestic disturbance. While responding, dispatchers notified the deputy that a school bus driver had called to report a man covered in blood standing in the roadway near the same home.
When the deputy arrived, he identified the injured man as 36-year-old Travis Pressley. Pressley was detained without incident on an outstanding felony warrant for terroristic threatening, according to the arrest affidavit.
The deputy then spoke with two witnesses at the scene. They reported that Pressley had become aggressive, allegedly grabbing a woman by the throat before being taken to the ground by another man present. Witnesses said Pressley assaulted the woman a second time before being physically stopped by another individual.
Both reported victims were covered in blood, the deputy noted, and additional blood was observed at the scene. Authorities determined the blood came from injuries Pressley sustained during the altercation.
Pressley was transported to Sevier County Medical Center for treatment before being booked into the Sevier County Jail.
He is charged with first-degree assault on a family or household member, a Class A misdemeanor, and is awaiting his first court appearance.
