Sevier County Man Faces More Than 100 Child Sexual Abuse Material Charges

A Sevier County man is facing more than 100 counts related to alleged child sexual abuse material following an investigation by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office and the 9th West Judicial District Drug Task Force.
According to a press release shared by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, Shawn Jobe was arrested August 23rd during a traffic stop conducted by Deputy Robert McMahon and Special Agent Greg Harper.
Jobe was initially arrested on an outstanding warrant. During the investigation, officers located a cell phone in Jobe’s possession that had not been reported as required through the Sex Offender Registry.
The sheriff’s office says Jobe is a Level 3 sex offender in Arkansas and had recently resided in Polk County.
Jobe was taken to the Sevier County Jail, where Investigator Chet Stubbs interviewed him regarding the unreported phone and related circumstances. A search warrant was later obtained for a forensic examination of the device.
According to investigators, the forensic examination uncovered evidence consistent with child sexual abuse material. A probable cause affidavit for more than 100 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material was prepared and forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review and formal charging.
Jobe remains incarcerated at the Sevier County Jail on the original revocation warrant and in connection with additional allegations involving Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Child Sexual Abuse Material.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation remains ongoing.
