Shelton Promoted to Sergeant by ASP
An area state trooper has received a promotion. 30 year old Trooper First Class Ryne Shelton was promoted yesterday to the rank of sergeant during a meeting of the Arkansas State Police Commission.
Colonel Bill Bryant made the recommendation, which was approved by the commissioners.
Shelton is a six year veteran of the department and has received the assignment of being a post supervisor for the Troop G Highway Patrol Division, headquartered at Hope.
Shelton has previously been stationed with Troop G, serving his first ASP assignment in Lafayette County. Most recently, he was assigned to patrol duties for Troop K & was stationed in Pike County.
Sergeant Shelton is a Dierks native, having graduated from Dierks High School.
