Shooting Investigation Underway in Kirby

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported shooting that occurred Monday, September 21, 2026, at a residence in Kirby.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the residence following a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found a victim suffering from two apparent gunshot wounds. Pafford EMS responded to the scene and provided medical treatment.

The victim was then transported to a designated landing zone to be airlifted for additional medical treatment. The individual believed to be the shooter was detained at the scene. The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division was contacted and will be handling the investigation.

Authorities say no additional information is being released at this time because the investigation remains active and ongoing.
