Shreveport Woman Arrested on Drug Charges Following Interstate 30 Traffic Stop

A 36-year-old Shreveport, Louisiana, woman was arrested on drug charges after an Arkansas Highway Police traffic stop on Interstate 30 in Nevada County, according to an affidavit.

The affidavit states that at approximately 12:47 p.m. on June 17, PFC Benny Oliver stopped a 2013 Freightliner box truck traveling eastbound near the 50-mile marker because it did not display a company name on the driver’s side door.

The driver and passenger were identified as Eric Darnell Nobles and Micheala Nobles, both of Shreveport. During the stop, Oliver observed a knife in the truck’s open dash compartment and asked the occupants if there was anything else in the vehicle he should know about. Both reportedly said there was not.

According to the affidavit, both occupants consented to a search of the vehicle. During the search, authorities located an unopened bottle of Bud Light and, after a female officer arrived to assist, searched a purse found inside the truck.

Investigators allege they discovered a small bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a bedazzled keychain containing 11 pills believed to be ecstasy, along with one orange pill that Micheala Nobles identified as Adderall. The affidavit states the Adderall was later confirmed through pill identification, and no prescription bottle was found.

Authorities said Micheala Nobles claimed ownership of both the marijuana and the pills. She was taken into custody without incident, advised of her Miranda rights and transported to the Nevada County Jail.

Nobles is charged with possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, 2 grams or more but less than 28 grams, and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, less than 4 ounces.

The allegations are contained in a probable cause affidavit. Nobles is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
