Smith Ready Mix Reflects on Legacy, Growth, and Concrete Expertise in Honor of Home Improvement Month

In celebration of Home Improvement Month, Shana Smith, the third generation owner of Smith Ready Mix, sat down for an insightful interview with KMTB and KNAS, reflecting on the rich history and growth of the family business. Founded in 1947, Smith Ready Mix began as a sand and gravel business in Nashville and has since evolved into a major provider of concrete products in the region.

Since its early days, Smith Ready Mix has expanded significantly, now operating eight permanent locations and one portable plant, with plans to continue growing.

Smith also fondly shared memories of working alongside her father, who was a driving force in the company’s success.
