South Pike County School Board Approves Personnel Changes, Staff Bonus

The South Pike County School District held its regular monthly board meeting Tuesday, approving several personnel changes and staff-related measures for the upcoming school year.
During the meeting, board members approved the resignations of Jane Caldwell and paraprofessional Candice Hughes.
The board also approved the hiring of Candice Hughes and Christy Terrell as elementary teachers for the 2026-27 school year, along with the hiring of Abigale McMillian as elementary counselor and Regina Walker as elementary art teacher.
In athletics, the board approved the hiring of Drake Staggs as assistant football and assistant baseball coach for the upcoming school year.
Board members also approved hiring Whitley Lingo and Dana Jones to work in the cafeteria for the 2026-27 school year.
In other business, the board approved a $300 bonus for all district staff to be distributed in June.
All motions approved during the meeting passed unanimously.
