South Pike County School District pass audit
Monday night, board members of the South Pike County School District voted to hire Davey Jones as the high school principal and James Riley as the elementary principal for the 24-25 school year.
Superintendent Tanya Wilcher reported that their cafeteria was monitored recently, and the audit was great with no Findings. Wilcher also informed the board the dirt work on the baseball/softball complex was started Monday February 19th.
According to Principal Jones’ report, teachers have received training and updates on the new ATLAS portal for spring testing. Jones also said the Juniors will be taking the ACT on February 27th.
Principal Riley presented the results to the K-2 Star testing for this quarter. Riley also had the board to take an ATLAS practice test so they could see the new portal and how the testing was set up.
In conclusion the board approved a motion to approve the 24-25 school calendar pending the state board’s approval of early state date waivers. The next school board meeting was moved to Tuesday March 12th due to spring break.
