South Pike County Trap competing at State level

Last week, The South Pike County Rattle Traphead qualified to go to the State Youth Shooting Sports Competition that will be held June 2nd. Out of the 25 MHS participants, Cole McKnight, Colton Jackson, Cale Humphry, Branson McMillian, and Hunter Sweat are the top qualifiers.

South Pike County FFA Advisor, Ag Teacher, and South Pike County Traphead Coach Reggie Lamb talked about the upcoming competition that will take place in Jacksonville and how the team will be going head to head at state level.

Lamb even mentioned volunteer coaches Kim Jones and Philip Jones and how they became a part of coaching the team.

Lamb stated that they have about 25 students that’s apart of the Rattler Trap Squad. Lamb also talked about how proud he was of the team and how they stepped up this season, and he mentioned some of the tournaments they competed in.

The Rattle Traps are ranked 9th out of 128 squads in the region. South Pike County currently has five junior squads and one senior squad.
