SPCSD extends Wilcher’s superintendent contract

The South Pike County School District held their regular monthly meeting last week.
There was a motion made by Board Member Barbie Baxter and seconded by Alyssa Duggan to extend Superintendent Tanya Wilcher’s contract for two years. The board approved the motion.
Superintendent Tanya Wilcher mentioned that January is School Board Appreciation Month and she handed out certificates to the school board members of South Pike County.

Wilcher also updated the board on the Superintendent Symposium and the upcoming legislative session.

Wilcher discussed the salary schedule being looked into along with the funding matrix possibly changing.

Wilcher stated that their plan is to keep an eye on things over the next couple of years and try to prepare for any possible changes in the funding matrix and salary schedules for the school districts in Arkansas.
