SPCSD selling old iPads and MacBooks

Monday night, the South Pike County School Board met in their regular scheduled meeting.

Superintendent Tanya Wilcher reported the district is selling old Ipads for $220 each and MacBooks for $400. She said the district will sell these items to the public. She stated work on the baseball and softball fields is scheduled to begin this week.

Wilcher also informed the board that three teachers in the district were eligible for Merit pay.

The Merit Teacher Incentive Fund Program recognizes and rewards excellent teachers. Teachers, school counselors, library media specialists and aspiring teachers employed under an Aspiring Teacher Permit are eligible for the bonus.

The three teachers at South Pike County are Carly Gatlin, Melissa Cornish and Melissa Jones.

Board members accepted the resignation of Misty Walters a third grade teacher and voted to hire Billy Buster Bonner as the boys basketball coach and Krista Millner as an elementary teacher.

Board members also added additional duties to the contract of Tracy Jones for Cross Country coach and Assistant football and baseball to the contract of Gene Strode.
