Spring Sports Classifications 2026-2028

Last Friday, the Arkansas Activities Association announced its spring sports conference alignments for the 2026–2028 cycle.

In Class 4A, the 7-4A conference for all sports except football will include Arkadelphia, Camden Fairview, De Queen, Hope, Magnolia, and Nashville. For football, Nashville will compete in a conference with Arkadelphia, Ashdown, Fouke, Fountain Lake, Genoa Central, Hope, and Malvern.

Several schools will compete in different classifications for spring sports. Ashdown, Fouke, and Genoa Central will move down to the 7-3A conference, joining Bismarck, Centerpoint, Cossatot River, and Prescott.

Fountain Lake will also drop to Class 3A for spring sports but will compete in the 5-3A conference alongside Atkins, Baptist Prep, Glen Rose, Jessieville, Maumelle Charter, Mayflower, and Perryville.

Malvern will remain in Class 4A but shifts to the 4-4A conference, where it will join Dardanelle, Haskell Harmony Grove, Mena, Morrilton, and Waldron.

Meanwhile, Camden Fairview, De Queen, and Magnolia move down from the 5A South football conference, where they previously competed against Arkansas High, Hot Springs, Hot Springs Lakeside, Pine Bluff, and White Hall.

In Class 2A, the 3-2A football conference will include Dierks, Foreman, Gurdon, Junction City, Mineral Springs, Murfreesboro, and Spring Hill. However, for spring sports, Dierks and Murfreesboro will shift to the 4-2A conference, joining Acorn, Caddo Hills, Hackett, Horatio, and Mansfield.

Gurdon, Junction City, and Spring Hill will compete in the 8-2A conference along with Fordyce, Hampton, Lafayette County, and Taylor.

Foreman and Mineral Springs will move down to the 7-1A conference, where they will join Blevins, Kirby, Mount Ida, Oden, and Umpire.

In 8-man football, the South conference will consist of Blevins, Dermott, Friendship Aspire, Hermitage, Lafayette County, Strong, and Woodlawn.
