Springs of Minecreek Preparing for Fishing Derby and Fall Events

KMTB and KNAS recently had the opportunity to speak with Anish Sims, Activity Director for the Springs of Minecreek, and Misty Holden, Infection Control Unit Manager, about upcoming activities and fundraisers planned for residents and the community.

One of the upcoming events at Springs of Minecreek is a Fishing Derby scheduled for September 9th. Sims began the conversation by explaining where she gets ideas for activities and events for the residents.

Sims also discussed how the facility chooses items that residents particularly enjoy and how community donations help make those activities possible.

Holden then provided more information about the upcoming Fishing Derby and explained why events like this are important for the residents at Springs of Minecreek.

Holden also discussed a baked potato fundraiser and other activities planned for September and October.

As Halloween approaches, residents at Springs of Minecreek also look forward to taking part in the community celebration. Holden said residents especially enjoy coming outside and handing out candy to local trick-or-treaters.

Sims also talked about the importance of preorders for the upcoming fundraiser and encouraged those interested in participating to get their orders in ahead of time.

With several events planned over the coming months, Springs of Minecreek is continuing to find ways to keep residents active, involved and connected with the community. The Fishing Derby on September 9th will be one of the first opportunities for residents and others to enjoy an afternoon of fun together.
