State Championship Rings Presented to NHS 2020 Indoor Track Team

The Nashville High School Track Team celebrated its 4A Indoor State Championship Thursday evening. During halftime of the junior high football scrimmage, the track squad was presented their championship rings. Coach Rick Baker said his squad had a great day on that February evening in Fayetteville:

Even with the win, Baker said it could have been better for Nashville. Several track athletes were still competing in basketball during the state indoor meet. Baker said he felt like his squad would have been competing for the state championship in spring, had school districts not been forced to close, ending athletic competition.

About 25 rings were presented Thursday evening. Coach Baker said the team has been looking forward to last night’s presentation for quite some time.

Coaches are already working with the school’s cross country squad and are expecting great things during that season.
