State Prison Site Proposal for the city of Blevins

A public meeting was held in Blevins Monday night concerning a proposed prison. The meeting started in the Blevins City Hall but had to be moved across the street to the Word of Faith Church due to the size of the crowd.

The Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation has proposed two sites in Hempstead County as a potential site for a state prison, one of those sites is near Blevins.

The site being considered near Blevins is on Highway 371.
