Sudden Cardiac Arrest

Jeff Williams, RN and Director of Education at Howard Memorial Hospital presented a program to the Nashville Rotary club on Wednesday on the topic of ventricular fibrillation, an irregular and often rapid heart rate that commonly causes poor blood flow. During the presentation, club members used a training defibrillator to simulate a patient with Sudden Cardiac Arrest and the procedures to follow. Williams recommended that every public place have an AED in case of an emergency. HMH now offers several education classes to the public.
