Sunday Shooting Incident Reported Locally
Nashville police investigated a shooting incident that occurred Sunday evening.
Police Chief Amy Marion said officers were dispatched to 320 East Russell Street around 6:10 PM.
When officers arrived, they made contact with 34 year old Darell Scoggins who told authorities he and 27 year old Kendall Rourk were having a verbal argument in Scoggins’ driveway when Rourk pulled a pistol from his pocket and shot Scoggins in the lower abdomen. Police reports say Scoggins ran inside his residence to notify authorities and heard three more gunshots.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and was later released.
Rourk fled the scene on foot and turned himself into the police department around 10:50 Sunday night. He was then booked into the Howard County jail and is expected to be charged with 1st Degree Battery.
