Superintendent of NSD discuss budget at board meeting
Monday night during the regular meeting of the Nashville School Board, Superintendent Doug Graham reported the district operated at about 85 percent of it’s 2023-2024 budget, which left the district will a healthy ending balance.
Graham explained a state law allows a district to carry-over 20 percent of it’s gross revenue from one year to the next. He stated the district needed to move $1,609,217 from the operating budget line item to the building fund.
Graham stated he may use a portion of those funds for either a salary schedule increase of a one-time bonus for teachers, but would make that recommendation to the board once he researched the pros and cons of both scenarios.
Board members approved Grahams recommendation to move the funds to the building fund at this time in order to be in compliance with the law.
Graham also announced to the board that the Nashville School District and all four campuses were fully accredited.
Board members voted to accept the resignation of Tessa Dean as the elementary testing coordinator and literacy coach. They voted to hire Jacob Greenfield as a teacher/coach and Ashley Hale was named the new head trap coach.
