Superintendent of NSD speaks at Nashville Rotary Club Meeting
Nashville Superintendent Doug Graham was the guest speaker at the Nashville Rotary Club on Wednesday.
Graham reported the district has a total budget of over $26 million and of that $26 million, over $10 million is payroll. He said that makes the district one of the largest businesses in Nashville.
Graham also stated that for the first time in a long time, the district’s enrollment is lower this year than it was last year. He said enrollment last year was 1,917. He said enrollment this year is 1,868, which will cost the district about $342,000.
Graham told Rotarians that because of the Learns Act, the Nashville School District will need to study the pros and cons of a 4-day school week.
Graham said he challenges everyone in the Nashville School District to ‘make a difference in the life of a child.’
