Suspected Police Impersonation In Area

Law enforcement officials are alerting southwest Arkansas residents of a suspected police impersonation. Monday morning, someone reported to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department that an unmarked vehicle with a dash mounted light conducted a traffic stop. The citizen said the vehicle that pulled them over was an umarked black, or dark colored, newer model Dodge Charger occupied by two white males. The individual who approached the stopped vehicle had facial hair and was not in uniform. Howard County Sheriff Bryan McJunkins advises citizens to call 911 if you’re concerned about the validity of an attempted traffic stop made by a vehicle that’s not clearly defined as a police unit.
