Suspects of Nashville arrested for aggravated assault
On February 29th, 2024, at around 3:50am, Officers of the Nashville Police Department were dispatched to 616 W Henderson St in reference to a man being hit in the head with a beer bottle. According to the affidavit, officers made contact with the victim, 45-year-old Jose Vera. Vera stated that he and suspects 24-year-old Jose Lopes and 21-year-old Juan Vasquez had been drinking together all night.
According to Vera’s statement Vasquez and Lopes got into a verbal altercation and Vera reportedly told officers that he tried to break them up. Lopes then allegedly pulled out a knife and told him to go back into the house or he would kill him. It was also reported that at the same time Vasquez hit Vera in the head with a beer bottle, breaking the bottle, and causing a laceration and a knot on Vera’s head. Lopes and Vasquez were arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail. Lopes was booked in for aggravated assault and Vasquez was charged with battery in the second degree.
