Texarkana Man arrested for aggravated assault
On February 24th at approximately 3:40am, Pike County Dispatch received a call from Audrey Murphy at 111 Rock House Road.
According to the affidavit, Murphy told dispatch that 43-year-old Shane Alan Brown of Texarkana threatened to kill her and had access to a gun. It was reported that when deputies spoke with Murphy, she was unsure of Brown’s whereabouts. Murphy reportedly said the incident began February 23rd around 10pm and continued until 3:30am the next morning. Murphy told officers that Brown was her cousin and was living with her for approximately two months before moving back to his father’s residence.
As reported, Murphy explained to officers that Brown was behaving strangely that night and appeared to be on drugs and was thinking other people were in the house with them. After Murphy refused to give Brown her passcode to her phone, Murphy stated that Brown began to hit her with his fists and open handed striking her in the face, head, and other parts of her body. Murphy even stated that Brown hit her with a whiskey bottle and choked her until she was unconscious. Murphy said that Brown took her phone after she tried to call for help. Deputies reportedly noticed bruising on Murphy’s right eye, significant bruising to her left eye which was almost swollen shut. Murphy was taken to the hospital by private vehicle for treatment.
Deputies located Brown back at the original scene that day and was taken into custody without incident and was charged with Kidnapping, domestic battery in the second degree, aggravated assault, terroristic threatening in the first degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, and interference w/Emergency communications in the first degree.
