Texarkana Murder Suspect Re-Arrested After High-Speed Chase and Crash

A 17-year-old suspect facing First-Degree murder charges in the death of Kendrick Roquemore was re-arrested on October 2, 2024, following a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle.

The incident began around 5:30 p.m. when Arkansas State Police (ASP) assisted the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) in tracking the stolen vehicle. ASP officers spotted the suspect traveling north on Jefferson Avenue before the driver turned onto Interstate 30, where speeds reached approximately 95 mph.

Near the I-30/I-49 eastbound interchange, the suspect attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control, causing the car to overturn in the median and come to rest on its roof.

Troopers swiftly arrested the driver, who was treated for injuries at Christus St. Michael Healthcare before being transported to a juvenile detention center in Pine Bluff.

This suspect was already scheduled for trial next month for the murder charge stemming from Roquemore’s death on September 29, 2023. After the latest incident, he faces additional felony charges of Theft of Property and Fleeing.

Miller County Circuit Court Judge Carlton Jones revoked the suspect’s previous $250,000 bond for the murder charge on October 3, 2024, and imposed a new $250,000 bond for the additional charges. The legal proceedings continue as the case develops.
