Texarkana woman arrested for drug charges
On February 25th, Nashville Patrol Officer Jason Icenhower conducted a traffic stop on a red Toyota car for an inoperable brake light. The driver was identified as 23-year-old Merced A Medina of Texarkana. According to the affidavit, Medina informed officers that her license was suspended and that she had warrants from the City of Texarkana. It was reported that the on-duty dispatch was able to confirm that Medina had a suspended license and outstanding warrants from Howard County, Mineral Springs, and Bryant. As reported Medina then confessed to officers that she had some marijuana and mushrooms in the car. Officers then retrieved the contraband from the car which consisted of one plastic bag containing a green, vegetable substance believed to be marijuana, and one was a plastic bag containing a brown, vegetable substance believed to be psilocybin mushrooms. Medina was taken into custody and transported to the Howard Memorial Detention Facility and charged with Possession of a schedule I controlled substance and possession of a scheduled VI controlled substance.
