The gifts keep coming for Dierks High School.

Fresh off winning $1 million in the T-Mobile 5G Friday Night Lights contest, sixteen students and four teachers/administrators received word they will be heading to the Southeastern Conference Championship Game in Atlanta, Georgia.
During last week’s regular meeting of the Dierks School Board, members voted to approve the out-of-state travel request. The group is scheduled to be in Atlanta from December 5–7.
The good news continued on December 21, when the Dierks Athletic Booster Club announced that Weyerhaeuser had presented the organization with a $50,000 check. The donation will be combined with other funding to help renovate and update Ayers Field.
In other business, the board approved out-of-state travel for the senior high boys basketball team to compete in a tournament in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Board members also voted to accept transfer requests for three students moving from the De Queen School District to the Dierks School District.
