Three juveniles arrested in Texarkana, one with Spring Hill ties

Three juveniles were arrested early Friday after a Wake Village police officer recognized a vehicle believed to have been involved in a series of recent vehicle burglaries in Texarkana and Nash.

At about midnight on Friday, July 31, Wake Village Police Officer Jacob Miramontes was working an off-duty security assignment at a Texarkana movie theater when he spotted a vehicle that had recently been identified as being involved in multiple vehicle burglaries on both the Texas and Arkansas sides of Texarkana, as well as in Nash.

Miramontes stopped the vehicle in a nearby parking lot.

Inside were three juveniles, ages 14, 15 and 16.

During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered four handguns. A fifth handgun was found concealed under the shirt of one of the juveniles, tucked beneath an arm.

Investigators determined that four of the five firearms had been reported stolen during the recent vehicle burglaries.

All three juveniles were arrested on charges of theft of a firearm and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Authorities said one of the three teens attended Spring Hill High School during the previous school year.

The investigation remains ongoing.
