Thunderstorm Causes Damage Saturday Night

Severe thunderstorms moved through a large part of southwest Arkansas late Saturday night. With winds stronger than those associated with the tropical system, several trees and limbs were reported down in the city of Nashville and other sections of Howard County. There was also damage reported to electric lines, with lines and poles being knocked down or snapped into. Electric crews worked through Saturday night & Sunday to restore the service.
The storms also brought another round of heavy rain, with a few inches being reported in the northern parts of the county. With the rain that fell Saturday night, the National Weather Service in Little Rock says the area from near Mena into northern portions of Howard County have received more than 20 inches of rain this month.
