Tollette Church of God Hosting Community Fish Fry to Benefit Homeless Shelter

The First Church of God in Tollette is inviting the public to a Community Fish Fry on Saturday, May 31st at 10:00 a.m. The event is not only a chance to enjoy a good meal but also an opportunity to give back to those in need.

Pastor Charles Green, overseer of the Tollette Church of God, spoke with KMTB and KNAS about the event.

The fish fry will serve as a donation drive for Randy Sam’s Outreach Shelter, which supports individuals experiencing homelessness. Pastor Green emphasized the importance of giving items that meet real needs.

Additional items that can be donated are:

  • Razors, deodorant, and other hygiene items
  • Toothpaste, floss, shampoo, and body wash
  • Brushes, combs, shower shoes, and reading glasses
  • Paper products like toilet paper and paper towels
  • Face masks, hand sanitizer, plastic grocery bags, and small bottled water

70% of the shelter’s residents are men, so items geared toward adult males are especially in demand.

Pastor Green also shared how the idea for the event came to be.

To close, he offered a warm invitation to visit their church and shared details about their regular worship schedule.

Tollette Church of God is located at 1080 MLK Dr in Tollette. All are welcome to attend the fish fry and support the cause. Donations are appreciated and will go a long way in blessing those in need.
