Traffic Stop in Nashville Leads to Drug Arrest, Affidavit Alleges

A Nashville man was arrested following a traffic stop in early June after a deputy allegedly discovered suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside his vehicle.
According to the affidavit, Deputy Landon Tollett stopped a brown Buick Encore on June 1, 2026, on Main Street in Nashville for a broken taillight.
While speaking with the driver, identified as Gonzollis Chrisp, Tollett reported smelling the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The affidavit states Chrisp was asked to step out of the vehicle while a search was conducted.
During the search, Tollett allegedly located a black magnetic box near the driver’s seat containing a clear glass smoking device with a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, as well as a clear plastic bag containing another white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The affidavit also alleges the deputy found a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, a clear plastic marijuana grinder and three marijuana cigarettes inside a storage compartment to the left of the steering wheel.
Chrisp was transported to the Howard County Jail without incident.
He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance.
