Traffic stop in Pike County leads to drug arrest

On July 10th, Pike County Deputy Chris Gates conducted a traffic stop on a pickup. The suspect was identified as 45-year-old Christopher Hill of Murfreesboro. According to the affidavit, Gates ran Hill information through ATLAS, and it was reported that Hill had just been charged for possession of schedule 1 or 2 last month. Gates reportedly got K-9 Dugo out to do an open-air sniff on the pickup and Dugo alerted on the driver door. Gates then asked Hill to step out of the vehicle and searched him and then the vehicle. It was reported that Gates found a broken light bulb with suspected methamphetamine residue inside of it. Gates also found another light bulb with the socket drilled out. Gates also found a cigarette pack with a small clear baggy with suspected methamphetamine inside of it. Gates then placed Hill under arrest and transported him to Pike County Jail and was charged with possession of a schedule two substance.
