Traffic stop results in drug arrest
March 25th, Dierks Police Officer Turner Reed observed a black Dodge Ram pickup with fictitious tags and made a traffic stop on Highway 70 inside the city limits of Dierks.
Reed identified the driver as Alan Gonzalalezaree who had two misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. Gonzalaezaree was also a parolee with a search waiver on file with the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
While searching the vehicle, Reed discovered two glass smoking devices underneath the passenger seat.
The passenger who was identified as 52-year-old Jorge Jaimes-Salinas of Nashville admitted they belonged to him.
Jaimes-Salinas was detained and transported to the Howard County Jail.
During a search of Jaimes-Salinas at the jail, jailers discovered two plastic bags containing suspected methamphetamine.
Jaimes-Salinas was charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia and a felony count of possession of a controlled substance.
