Traffic stop results in drug charges for Nashville resident

An October traffic stop in Pike County has led to charges being filed against a Nashville resident. 35 year old Michael Waterbury is charged with felony counts that include Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Glenwood police say they observed Waterbury’s vehicle make an improper pass of another vehicle and conducted the traffic stop on Highway 70. When officers approached the vehicle, reports said a strong odor of suspected marijuana was coming from inside the vehicle. During a search of Waterbury’s vehicle, police say they recovered suspected methamphetamine and marijuana, along with some drug paraphernalia.
Charges against Waterbury were filed yesterday in Pike County Circuit Court.
