Traffic stop results in multiple charges for Nashville resident
A traffic stop by Nashville Police has resulted in charges against a local resident. Chief Amy Marion said officer David Shelby stopped a vehicle over the weekend for having no license plate. The driver, identified as 57 year old Carlyle Causey of Nashville, did not have a valid driver’s license or proof of insurance. Officer Shelby asked Causey to step out of the vehicle. Reports say the officer saw loose marijuana fall to the ground as Causey stepped out. Chief Marion said as Officer Shelby attempted to retreive the marijuana from Causey’s hand, Causey intentionally dropped the marijuana to the ground, causing most of it to blow away.
Causey was arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail, where he was cited for lack of a drivers license, no proof of insurance, Possession of Marijuana, and for Tampering with Evidence.
