Trial Dates Set for Three Suspects in Fatal De Queen Shooting

Three suspects charged in connection with a February shooting in De Queen that left one teenager dead and two others injured have received new court dates after continuances were granted in Sevier County Circuit Court on May 28.
Twenty-one-year-old Tristan Mendoza and 18-year-old Christian Soto now have pretrial hearings scheduled for Dec. 3, with jury trials set for Dec. 16. Both have pleaded not guilty and remain in the Sevier County Jail on bonds of $500,000 and $250,000, respectively.
Eighteen-year-old Kaytlon Huesca, who is charged as an accomplice, is scheduled for a pretrial hearing Aug. 6 and trial Aug. 26. She previously posted bond and was released from custody.
The three are accused in the Feb. 2 shooting that killed 16-year-old Jonathan Morales of De Queen and wounded two other victims.
