Two Arrested Following Search Warrant in Nashville

Two people were arrested Friday, September 25, following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on W. Sypert Street in Nashville.

According to the Nashville Police Department, officers with the Nashville Police Department, Arkansas State Police, and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission assisted the 9th West Drug Task Force in executing the search warrant at 515 W. Sypert Street.

As a result of the search, authorities reported the seizure of approximately 2,115.1 grams of marijuana, 182.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, $2,880 in cash, a Glock .40-caliber pistol, a Glock switch, and a Matrix Arms 7.62 rifle.

Authorities arrested 18-year-old Kenyon Guarisco of Nashville. According to police, Guarisco faces charges of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug premises, and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with purpose to deliver.

David Lima, 20, of Nashville, was also arrested. Police said Lima faces charges of obstructing governmental operations and driving on a suspended driver’s license.

The search also led to the involvement of federal authorities. According to the Nashville Police Department, federal agents were contacted to begin an investigation involving the Glock switch.

A Glock switch is a device designed to convert a compatible semiautomatic handgun into a fully automatic firearm. The department stated that such devices are illegal to possess even when they are not installed on a firearm and may carry federal criminal penalties upon conviction.

The arrests and charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
