Two Dead, One Injured Following Shooting at Texarkana Aluminum Plant

Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting incident that occurred Tuesday morning at Texarkana Aluminum in Nash, leaving two men dead and one woman seriously injured.
According to police, 48-year-old Eddie Ray Hill Jr. of Texarkana was fatally shot after reportedly attempting to intervene in a domestic dispute involving coworkers at the facility.
Investigators say the suspected shooter, 40-year-old Wendell Lane Champion Jr. of Hope, allegedly shot his wife, Candis Jolene Champion, during the incident before taking his own life.
Candis Champion was seriously injured and transported for medical treatment. Her current condition has not been released.
Texarkana Aluminum has established a crisis response team to assist employees and is cooperating with the Nash Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies as the investigation continues.
Authorities also confirmed Champion had previously been convicted in connection with the 2007 killing of a security guard during a robbery and had recently been released on parole.
The investigation remains ongoing.
