Two vehicle accident claimed the life of a Pike County Woman

Tuesday afternoon, a two vehicle accident claimed the life of a Pike County woman.

According to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety report, a 2009 Honda CRV driven by 42-year-old Sarah Cox of Nashville was traveling West on State Highway 26 East when it crossed the center line and into the path of a 2010 Toyota Prius that was being driven by 57-year-old Felicia Summers of Delight.

The vehicles collided head-on causing the CRV to cross back into the westbound lane facing East.

The Prius exited the roadway into the eastbound ditch facing West.

Cox was partially ejected through the driver side window. Cox and a minor passenger were taken to UAMS and Children’s hospitals in Little Rock.

Summers was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Pike County Coroner Dawn Friedman.

The accident was investigated by Arkansas State Trooper Ryan Wingo.
