UA Cossatot offering Pharmacy Tech program
UA Cossatot offers a 50-hour Pharmacy Technician program that will prepare students to work as a pharmacy technician in a retail or other pharmacy setting and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam. Open enrollment has begun for the program, which runs from October 13th through December 8th. The deadline to register for the Pharmacy Technician program is Monday, October 5th. The 9-week program will be held at the school’s Nashville Campus Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. Course content will include pharmacy medical terminology, pharmacy history, pharmacy practice in multiple environments, pharmacy calculation and measurements, reading and interpreting prescriptions, and defining drugs by generic and brand names. Students will review and study several topics and subjects such as dosage calculations, drug classifications, the top 200 drugs, and I.V. flow rates and more through classroom lectures and hands-on labs.
