Umpire Schools Going To Four Day Week
The Cossatot River School district, which includes the campus at Umpire, has announced that it will be going to a four day week for the 2020/2021 school year.
According to Umpire principal Gene Strode, classes will be held Tuesday through Friday from 7:55 AM until 4:10 PM with each class lasting for one hour.
Strode stated that during the first year, there will still be some athletic events taking place on Monday because the schedules have already been finalized with other schools. The district will avoid scheduling such events on Monday during the second year.
The school calendar for the upcoming year is in the process of being revised to reflect the four day week.
The district includes the K-12 schools at Umpire, Wickes Elementary, Vandervoort Elementary and Cossatot River High School.
