Veterans Day Programs Planned Across Howard County for Tuesday, November 11

With Veterans Day coming up on Tuesday, November 11, several events are planned across the area to honor and recognize the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The day will begin with a Veterans Day Program at Umpire School, starting at 9 a.m. in the FACS Room and Gym. Community members, students, and local veterans are invited to attend and take part in the ceremony.

Also on Tuesday, UA Cossatot will host a Veterans Day Breakfast on the Nashville campus in the York Gary Room from 8:30 to 11 a.m. All veterans are welcome, and organizers say there will be freebies and giveaways as a token of appreciation for their service.

At 11 a.m., a Veterans Day Program will take place at the Howard County Courthouse and continue until noon. Following that ceremony, lunch will be served to veterans at the Carter Day Center at 12 p.m. The program will also feature a special recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, honoring those who served during that time.

A Veterans Day ceremony will also be held at Dierks High School beginning at 11 a.m., followed by lunch for veterans and guests.

Community members are encouraged to attend any of the day’s events to show appreciation and gratitude for local veterans and their service to our country.
