Voter Registration Deadline
The deadline to register to vote in the March Preferential Primary and Nonpartisan General Election is Monday, February 5.
As the Preferential Primary Election and Nonpartisan General Election approaches it’s important that every eligible citizen to recognize they hold within their vote. The upcoming election is Tuesday, March 5 and it will give Arkansans the opportunity to shape the future of their communities, state and nation.
Currently, there are 1,738,711 registered voters in the state of Arkansas. Each individual carries the potential to influence their local and state policies. However, voter turnout for the March Preferential Primary and Nonpartisan General Elections is usually low.
During the 2022 Preferential Primary Election and Nonpartisan General Election on 25.98 percent of the registered voters in Arkansas cast a ballot. The turnout for the 2020 Preferential Primary Election and Nonpartisan General Election was 28 percent.
The first step in exercising your right to vote is to ensure you are registered to vote.
To register to vote in Arkansas you must fill out a paper Voter Registration Application. You can pick up an application at your local county clerks office, by calling the Arkansas Secretary of State Election Divisions at 1-800-482-1127, stop by the local revenue or DMV office, public library, disability office or military recruitment office.
Once the local county clerk processes your Voter Registration Application, they will sen you a personalized voter registration card. You can check your voter registration status online by visiting Arkansas Secretary of State: Voter View.
