Wilson Park Turf Installation Set To Be Finished In January

Installation of the new artificial turf at Wilson Park is at a stand still during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday.  However, crews made good progress before the break and Scrappers baseball coach Kyle Slayton says the project is about 65 to 70 percent complete.

The three time defending 4A state champions will begin practicing when school resumes.  Coach Slayton says his team will likely spend their first week of practice in the Scrapper Dome.

The first game on the new turf will be a practice game against Murfreesboro, followed by the Ralph Gross Tournament in early March.
