Winer accepts plea deal

 Kathryn Winer, 37, of Umpire, accepted a plea agreement August 5 in Howard County Circuit Court before Circuit Judge Tom Cooper.

Under the terms of the agreement, Winer was sentenced to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, with eight years suspended, after pleading guilty to one count of Sexual Assault in the First Degree. She was also given credit for 357 days previously served in the Howard County Jail.

According to an affidavit, on August 13, 2025, investigators Casey Parker and Jake Eudy interviewed Winer regarding allegations involving her and a 16-year-old juvenile.

During the interview, Winer disclosed that she and the juvenile had been involved in a sexual relationship since June 2025. She also reported that the two had exchanged nude photographs through Snapchat.

At the time of the investigation, Winer was employed as a teacher at JoAnn Walters Elementary School in the Dierks School District. The juvenile was a student at Dierks High School.
