World Donor Day – Blood Drive

Today is June 14th which makes it World Donor Day. The aim of World Donor Day is to raise awareness of the need for blood donations. If you have a full schedule today no sweat, this coming Friday at Howard Memorial Hospital Lifeshare will be hosting a summer blood drive from 11am-5pm. This event will take place at the hospital. Donate & receive a LifeShare T-shirt while supplies last. Lifeshare recommends planning ahead when you know you are going to be giving blood. This includes getting a good night’s sleep the night before as well as  drinking plenty of water. Eating a healthy balanced meal rich in Iron and Vitamin C. Make sure if you plan on attending that you bring a valid photo ID. You must be 16 YO to donate – Again this will be Friday June 18th from 11am-5pm at the Howard Memorial Hospital 130 Medical Circle.
