Nashville School District provides update on COVID numbers

As of this week, the Nashville School District is reporting 8 positive COVID-19 cases within the district. Superintendent Doug Graham said those numbers include 3 teachers and 5 students. The district also currently has 11 teachers out, due to close contact and 57 students in quarantine due to close contact.
Graham said the numbers aren’t currently high enough for the district to consider an all virtual learning method. Primary and junior high have the most concentrated number of cases at the present time.
Graham said he also expects accountability from staff members who are off work due to the virus. The superintendent said district personnel who are sent home with the virus or required to be in quarantine should understand that doesn’t mean they go deer hunting or take a vacation.

The Nashville School District is asking parents and guardians to visit the district’s website and complete a survey related to COVID-19. The survey was developed by the University of Arkansas’ Office for Education Policy and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. All responses listed are anonymous. Superintendent Doug Graham said the survey will hopefully provide the school system with information during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The survey is listed in a large orange box at the top of the website, which is nashvillesd.com, and should be completed by this Friday.
