NJHS FCCLA gears up for bake sale

Yesterday, KMTB and KNAS had the chance to speak with members of the Nashville Junior High School FCCLA organization. Those members were Lily Arbuthnott, Kaylee Santamaria, Natalie Walker, Yaneli Diaz, and Christy Maya.

Advisor Christie Hanney recognized these 5 competitors that became AR State STAR Qualifiers as well as the FCCLA organization as a whole.

Walker and Arbuthnott shared what division their team is in, and they talked about what they will be doing for nationals.

Santamaria mentioned how they utilize the spaces they were given while creating the dog shelter.

Arbuthnott said that the way they did their research was by visiting a local business in Nashville.

Maya discussed what her team project was along with what goals they had.

In conclusion, Hanney announced that they will be having a Bake Sale which will take place tomorrow at Diamond State Bank on Main Street here in Nashville. It will start at 8am until all items are sold out. Some of the items that will be sold are Lemon Icebox Cake, Coconut Cake, Coca-Cola Cake, Honey Bun Cake, Ooey Gooey Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Cake, Chocolate Cheesecake, and Lemon Pound Cake.

Proceeds will go towards expenses for the NJHS FCCLA members to travel to Seattle, Washington this summer to compete in the Nation FCCLA STAR Event Competition.
