Dierks School Board Meets For May Session

During its May meeting earlier this week, the Dierks school board made several approvals.

A motion was passed unanimously to accept a three year lease bid from Midwest Bus Sales for a 2021 Thomas Built 77 passenger bus for $14,000.00 per year as well as to extend a current lease for an additional year for $11,750.00.

The board also voted to accept a bid from Alive Risk Insurance for $3,209.00 for the 2020-2021 school year.

A motion was passed unanimously to approve the 2020-2021 Title VI-B Special Educational preliminary budget.

The Dierks board also approved a number of school choice transfers and voted to hire Jarrod Fannin for a morning bus route and Mindy Efird for an afternoon bus route.

Since the school was unable to have end-of-year assemblies, plans are being made to mail award certificates to students.

Dierks has scheduled graduation for July 20th in hopes of holding a traditional ceremony.
