Howard County Quorum Court 7/19

Three maintenance projects at the Howard County Senior Adult Center are now complete.  Repairs to the building’s air conditioner, fire alarm system, and electric breakers have been made.  Total cost of the repairs is just over 16 hundred dollars.  County Judge Kevin Smith reported he has visited with three aera counties about how their senior adult centers are funded.  Counties surveyed included Pike, Sevier & Miller.  J.p.’s may take a look at budgeting money for the local center when plans begin for the 2022 county budget.

Judge Smith also reported on a flooring issue within the hallway at the courthouse.  Earlier this year, the floor began buckling.  So far, despite trying several things for repairs, the efforts have been unsuccessful, and engineers don’t have a solution for the problem or an explanation for as to the cause.
