4-H Food Challenge Teams Compete and Win in Memphis
Howard County sent two food challenge teams to compete in the Mid-South 4-H Pantry Competition held in Memphis on February 26th.
The senior 4-H team is called “Seniors with Spatulas” and the team consists of Adelene Westfall, Sarah Lamb, Christian Trombley and Kat Chambers. They placed first with their chicken party dip and homemade chips. Westfall described the competition.
The junior team of Anna Kate McKinnon, Abi Webb and Lily Trombley and they are called the “Howard County Food Choppers.” They made a traditional dish of chicken quesadilla and a salsa.
Now is the time to enroll in 4-H. 4-H is for anyone ages 5-19. Westfall said 4-H has a variety of activities for young people to be involved in and the organization lets you be yourself.
Westfall said 4-H has provided her with opportunities that she would not have experienced anywhere else.
