Howard County to host 3 regional basketball tournaments; 4A baseball and softball state tournaments

The road to a 4A state baseball or softball championship will run through Nashville this spring. School Superintendent Doug Graham presented Nashville’s case to host the state tournaments for baseball and softball yesterday during a meeting of the Arkansas Activities Association. After hearing the presentation, the triple “A” voted to award Nashville the host site designation in both sports. The regional tournaments will be played at Malvern.
Not only will there be a lot of baseball and softball played in Nashville this spring, no county in Arkansas will probably host more post season high school basketball than Howard County, as three of the county’s school districts were chosen to host regional basketball tournaments. Scrapper Arena will host the 4A South Tournament. Dierks was given the 2A South regional, and Mineral Springs will showcase its new facilities this spring, by hosting the Class A regional basketball tournament.
